Ultra-Rapid Cancer Diagnosis Leveraging Real-Time DNA Sequencers
Rapid and affordable DNA sequencing will revolutionize the way we diagnose and treat disease. In particular, Cancer (the second leading cause of death in the US) is caused by a medley of genetic and/or epigenetic abnormalities. Knowing the specific set of abnormalities that cause a Cancer would allow for personalized cancer treatment and improve patient outcomes. We apply novel bioengineering approaches to standard tissue processing pipelines, PCR amplification, DNA sequencing library preparation, DNA sequencer signal analysis, and sequencer feedback control to enable rapid and low cost cancer diagnostics at a low cost.
